Churchill County is hoping to do what Spring Creek couldn't on Saturday: put an end to Fernley's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Fernley took down Spring Creek 49-34. Given the Vaqueros' advantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Spartans are ranked 42nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Taylor Tollestrup continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a triple-double on 24 points, ten boards, and 11 blocks. Tollestrup is crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Laura Rosales was another key player, putting up five points along with seven boards and four steals.
Fernley was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Spring Creek only posted five assists.
Meanwhile, Churchill County was fully in charge on Saturday, breezing past Wooster 47-9. The Greenwave have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 24 points or more this season.
Churchill County's win came from a few key players Fernley will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Karlie J. Simper, who posted five points in addition to seven boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Amillya Bishop, who had ten points.
Churchill County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Fernley, they pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Fernley has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 37.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Churchill County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.3 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
