The Pierce County Bears extended their postseason success on Friday against the Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 35-7 win over the Purple Hurricane. The result was nothing new for Pierce County, who have now won 12 matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.
It was another big night for Caden Mcgatha, who rushed for 328 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Mcgatha was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards.
The victory was the eighth in a row for Pierce County, bringing their record for this year to 13-1. As for Fitzgerald, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.
Pierce County will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Rockmart at 1:00 p.m. on December 12th. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Rockmart: 12, Pierce County: 7.9) so any points scored will be well earned. Fitzgerald does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
