The Milan Wildcats had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 36-24 victory over Knox County on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Milan also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Milan can attribute much of their success to Ahmet Niasse, who scored 20 points along with 9 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jared Gonzalez, who scored 3 points along with 5 steals.
Milan's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Knox County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Milan will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on South Shelby at 7:30 p.m. on January 26, 2024. As for Knox County, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Clark County.
