The Otsego Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their seventh straight loss. They took a serious blow against Genoa Area, falling 62-25. While losing is never fun, Otsego can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 752nd, while Genoa Area is ranked 348th).
Despite the loss, Otsego still got an impressive performance from Sophie Dimick, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Otsego bumped their record down to 2-14 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.9 points per game. As for Genoa Area, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-4.
Otsego will be playing in front of their home fans against Rossford at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
