Monta Vista moved up to 583 from 612 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in El Camino. The Matadors were able to make move up by defeating Harker 48-6.
Monta Vista took down the Eagles 48-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Peter Stern ran for 242 yards in the win.
Andre Guzman put up the best numbers through the air as Gunn defeated Los Altos. He finished with a total of six completions for 106 yards and two touchdowns. Guzman's favorite target this week was Tyrus Whitehead, who caught three passes for 49 yards.
Justin Cena was the best wideout in the league this week as Jeff Mueller's team bested Harker. Cena racked up one reception for 78 yards. Milanko Plavsic helped Monta Vista's passing attack out by catching one ball for 49 yards.
Ron Forbes' team's Spenser Quash and Robert Deng have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Quash has thrown for 1549 yards this season, while Deng has 35 catches for 527 yards. Fremont's Keenan Smith leads the league in rushing yards with 898.
A big matchup in El Camino this week will be when Cupertino takes on the Titans. The Pioneers are in first place, while Gunn is in third place.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Cupertino takes on Dan Navarro's team. Chris Oswald 's team has allowed 125 points this season, while the Titans have given up 128. The Pioneers allowed 3 points last week as they defeated Lynbrook.
