Even though the San Diego Vaqueros have not done well against the London Pirates recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. San Diego snuck past London with a 56-51 win. The win was familiar territory for San Diego who now have four in a row.
Leading San Diego to victory were Tyler Saenz and Estevan R barrientes. Saenz scored 12 points, while R barrientes scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Myke Gutierrez, who scored eight points.
San Diego is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season. As for London, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Diego will take on Falfurrias at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Falfurrias focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Tuesday. As for London, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Banquete at 7:30 p.m. Banquete is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
