The Lakeside Warriors will take on the Quitman Wolverines at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Tuesday, Lakeside made easy work of Mansfield and carried off a 15-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Wolverines: they've now won six in a row.
Peyton Wood was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
