Baseball Recap: Sandia Has No Trouble Against Piedra Vista

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Sandia had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They were the clear victors by an 11-5 margin over the Piedra Vista Panthers. The result was nothing new for the Matadors, who have now won 18 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Sandia and bumps their season record up to 20-8. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for Piedra Vista, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-12.

Coming up, Sandia will take on Cibola at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Matadors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. Piedra Vista does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
