The Sutton Mustangs posted their closest victory yet this season on Tuesday. They skirted past Ravenna 44-41. For Sutton, this counts as revenge for the 48-36 loss Ravenna walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Sutton can attribute much of their success to Cole Baumert, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Payton Reed, who scored ten points.
Sutton's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Ravenna, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sutton will take on Fairbury at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Fairbury focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 two weeks ago. As for Ravenna, they will head out on the road to square off against Arcadia/Loup City on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Arcadia/Loup City is ranked 188th, while Ravenna is ranked 177th).
