Blackman suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after a 23-21 loss to Bradley Central. The Blaze had been ranked 24th, but fell to 41 following the defeat.
Siegel extended the longest winning streak in AAA District 7 this week by beating Ravenwood, 42-0. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Stars.
Oakland's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Emmanuel Smith threw for 110 and two touchdowns and Kyle Oliver had 56 yards receiving. On the ground Smith chipped in 58 yards. George Gbesee helped Oakland's passing attack out by catching one ball for 37 yards.
Oakland's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Patriots feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Smith has thrown for 430 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Oliver has 18 catches for 233 yards. Smith also leads the league in rushing with 485 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Siegel takes on the Patriots. Greg Wyant's team is in first place, while Oakland is in third place.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Stars take on Josh Harris's team. Siegel has allowed 49 points this season, while the Patriots have given up 99. The Stars allowed 0 points last week as they topped the Raptors.
Siegel took down Ravenwood 42-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
