The Corcoran Panthers entered their tilt with the Strathmore Spartans with 18 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 19. Corcoran took down Strathmore 73-54 on Tuesday. Given Corcoran's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 467th, while Strathmore is ranked 948th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Corcoran's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Julian Fernandez, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Javon Bragg, who scored 15 points.
Corcoran pushed their record up to 23-2 with that victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.1 points per game. As for Strathmore, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-10.
Corcoran does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Strathmore also has no future games currently scheduled.
