Basketball Recap: Five Straight Home Victories for Young Americans Christian

Young Americans Christian hadn't done well against Dominion Christian recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Young Americans Christian Eagles came out on top against the Dominion Christian Knights by a score of 68-60. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 54-44 win the Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Young Americans Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Damian Crawford led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. Crawford's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Joshua Poole was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.

Young Americans Christian pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Dominion Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Young Americans Christian and Community Christian will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Young Americans Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 68.4 points per game this season. Dominion Christian and Academe of the Oaks will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
