The Beachside Barracudas waltzed into their game on Friday with nine straight wins but they left with ten. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 57-30 victory over Creekside. Beachside has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 24 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Beachside to victory, but perhaps none more so than Madilyn (Madi) Ray, who almost dropped a triple-double on 12 points, 13 rebounds, and nine blocks. Ray has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Morgan Cremen, who scored eight points along with nine steals and six assists.
Beachside pushed their record up to 14-3 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.9 points per game. As for Creekside, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beachside will take on Bartram Trail at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bartram Trail has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 21. As for Creekside, they will head out on the road to square off against Tocoi Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Tocoi Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 last Thursday.
