George Washington and Denver South are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2018, but likely not for long. The Patriots will square off against the Ravens at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. George Washington will be strutting in after a victory while Denver South will be coming in after a loss.
George Washington will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Thomas Jefferson, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Patriots put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 12-3 win on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won five games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Luke Wiederholt made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because George Washington is 4-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-4 otherwise. Wiederholt was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Adrian Reed, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Matt Holliger, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Golden hit Denver South with a seven-run fourth inning last Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Ravens came up short against the Demons, falling 11-5.
Denver South saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andon Forster, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Denver South has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season. As for George Washington, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. George Washington hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like Denver South struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
George Washington was able to grind out a solid win over Denver South in their previous meeting back in March, winning 7-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
