Winneconne won the last time they faced Omro and things went their way on Friday too. The Wolves took their matchup with ease, bagging a 52-6 win over the Foxes. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin football rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Foxes are ranked 271st) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Brody Schaffer went supernova, throwing for 191 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten passes, while also punching in one TD on the ground. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (152.1). Bryce Jones was another key player, rushing for 83 yards and one score on only five carries.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Winneconne proved: they limited Omro to a paltry 0.4 yards per carry. While four picked up at least four total tackles, Jones stood above the rest. He rushed for 83 yards and one touchdown on only five carries. Winneconne didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.9.

Winneconne didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Trey Zemke and Hudson Samolinski. Zemke got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

When it comes to explaining why Omro lost, don't look at Ralphie King. Despite the final result, he picked up 94 receiving yards and one TD. King's longest reception was for an incredible 75 yards.

Winneconne has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 12 points this season. As for Omro, they dropped their record down to 1-1 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Winneconne and Omro will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Wolves will face off against rival New London at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Omro is set to take on their familiar foe North Fond du Lac at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
