Basketball Recap: New Life Christian Academy Takes a Loss

It was a good run, but New Life Christian Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were outmatched by the Victory Baptist Academy Saints and fell 77-49. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 73-43 back in December of 2024.

New Life Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jake Hamilton, who dropped a triple-double on ten points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists. Hamilton is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last 29 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Cameron McEarchern, who shot 5-for-8 from long range and almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine boards.

Hamilton wasn't the only one working in the assists department: New Life Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now racked up at least 20 assists in six consecutive matches.

New Life Christian Academy's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-8. As for Victory Baptist Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

New Life Christian Academy will challenge Ignite Athletics at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. New Life Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.8 points per game this season. Victory Baptist Academy has already played their next contest (against Morgantown Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
