It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Sierra Vista Dons had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They strolled past the Gators with points to spare, taking the game 60-46.
Sierra Vista was led to victory by David Orozco and Aaron Buna. Orozco scored 11 points along with three steals, while Buna scored 12 points along with six assists and three steals. Buna hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Anson Wei, who scored seven points.
Sierra Vista is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-10 record this season. As for Newbury Park Adventist, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-6.
Sierra Vista will face off against Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Highland will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Sierra Vista surely won't give up without a fight. Newbury Park Adventist does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
