The Tri-State Christian Huskies waltzed into their game Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They strolled past Unity Christian with points to spare, taking the game 55-41. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Tri-State Christian also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
It was another big night for Will Cunningham, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 18 rebounds. The contest was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Nick Vannorsdel was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Unity Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Samm Wilbur. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Graham Foust, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Tri-State Christian pushed their record up to 5-2 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Unity Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-9.
Tri-State Christian will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Unity Christian at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Unity Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Monday. As for they, they will head out on the road to face off against Non Varsity Opponent at 6:30 p.m.
