It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Walton had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They blew past the Buford Wolves 3-0. Winning may never get old, but the Raiders sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
Walton never let Buford on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-19, 25-23.
Simone Searles paced Walton's offense, picking up 18 kills. Searles got some help from Janie Myers and her 33 assists. Ashlee Gomes controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Walton's victory bumped their record up to 26-6. As for Buford, their defeat ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 29-4.
Looking ahead, Walton will take on North Forsyth on Saturday. Buford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
