Softball Recap: Lynden Snags Ninth Victory in Last 12 Games

Lynden was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Anacortes on Thursday. The Lions blew past the Seahawks 15-1. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won seven contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Lynden is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Anacortes, they moved to 7-9 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lynden will square off against White River at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight. As for Anacortes, they will face off against Nooksack Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Seahawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pioneers have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season.
