After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Oak Ridge, the Boone Braves were happy to have found some success on Friday. They secured a 61-57 W over East River. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Cheo James continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 22 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Boone's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Makauri Massey, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Boone now has a winning record of 8-7. As for East River, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Boone will take on Lake Brantley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Lake Brantley is ranked 95th, while Boone is ranked 113th). As for East River, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Altamonte Christian at 7:30 p.m.
