Amherst County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Syrell McQueen, who scored 14 points. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Hannah Hooper, who scored eight points.
Riverheads' loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-6. As for Amherst County, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Riverheads will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wilson Memorial at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
