Colleyville Heritage has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Ryan Raiders at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Colleyville Heritage beat the Hawks 63-50. Given Colleyville Heritage's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while the Hawks are ranked 680th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Journee Hampton was her usual excellent self, scoring 29 points along with five steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Suliane Davis, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Ryan had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.1 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 55-26 win over Richland. Ryan has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 games by 21 points or more this season.
Colleyville Heritage has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 21-9 record this season. As for Ryan, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 27-7.
Colleyville Heritage came up short against the Raiders in their previous meeting back in January, falling 56-48. Can Colleyville Heritage avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
