Baseball Recap: Corcoran Snags Seventh Victory in Last Nine Games

Corcoran's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Everything went their way against the Mendota Aztecs as they made off with a 15-3 win. Considering the Panthers have won eight matches by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Corcoran let Ethan Chavez and Cruz Portillo run wild. Chavez scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Portillo scored two runs while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Portillo a new career-high in RBI (three). Elijah Muthana was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Corcoran has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Mendota, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Corcoran will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Orange Cove at 10:45 a.m. The Titans are coming into the matchup with three straight victories at home, so the Panthers will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Mendota, they will square off against Granite Hills at 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday. The Aztecs are facing the Grizzlies at the right time seeing as the Grizzlies are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
