Lee County's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Pinecrest Patriots 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Yellow Jackets have posted since March 4th.
Drew Stanfield made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Gavin Swann was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That triple was his first of the season.
Lee County's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Pinecrest, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 9-4.
