The Christ Our Rock Lutheran Silver Stallions are taking a road trip to take on the Greenville Comets at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Christ Our Rock Lutheran's pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so Greenville's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Christ Our Rock Lutheran is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Waltonville just ended the team's ten-game winning streak last Monday. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 9-8.

Emma Williamson put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up seven earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Alayna French was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with two runs.
Meanwhile, Greenville made easy work of Litchfield on Tuesday and carried off an 8-1 victory. Considering the Comets have won 15 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Christ Our Rock Lutheran, Greenville also got a great game from a two-way player: Payton White. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. That's the most strikeouts White has posted since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Haylee Clark, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Emma Bingham, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
Greenville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Litchfield only managed one hit.
Greenville's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games. As for Christ Our Rock Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-2.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Christ Our Rock Lutheran hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318. However, it's not like Greenville struggles in that department as they've averaged .337. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Christ Our Rock Lutheran might still be hurting after the 17-10 loss they got from Greenville when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Silver Stallions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
