The McDonough Warhawks stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past Lovett 75-46 at home. The win was nothing new for McDonough as they're now sitting on eight straight.
Nigel Thomas was his usual excellent self, shooting 4-for-9 from downtown and dropping a double-double on 29 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Zion Greene was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five steals.
When it comes to explaining why Lovett lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ryan Cain. Despite the final result, he scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Cameron Cannon, who scored 11 points.
McDonough pushed their record up to 19-2 with that victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.0 points per game. As for Lovett, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McDonough will take on Hampton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hampton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 370th, while McDonough is ranked 11th). As for Lovett, they will be playing at home against Woodland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
