The Childress Bobcats's 21-6 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 50-34 to West Plains. While losing is never fun, Childress can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 705th, while West Plains is ranked 119th).
Despite the defeat, Childress had strong showings from Journey Prince, who scored eight points along with six rebounds, and Joshlynn Roark, who scored 13 points.
Childress has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for West Plains, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-3.
Childress will square off against City View at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Plains, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Wellington at 12:00 p.m. Wellington is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
