Basketball Recap: Nokomis Skates Past Greenfield/Northwestern with Ease

Nokomis came tearing into Thursday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Greenfield/Northwestern Tigers 66-27. The Redskins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 26 points or more this season.

Nokomis got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Natalie Brownback out in front who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alivia Sabol, who scored six points and 12 rebounds.

Nokomis was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Nokomis' record is now 12-1. As for Greenfield/Northwestern, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nokomis will square off against Gillespie at 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2025. Nokomis' defense has only allowed 29.6 points per game this season, so Gillespie's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Greenfield/Northwestern, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Southwestern at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
