Basketball Recap: Richton Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Daylin Carter and Dakota Amos

Richton has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They lost 59-38 to the Presbyterian Christian Bobcats on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Bobcats are ranked 30th).

Dakota Amos and Daylin Carter certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Amos posted nine points in addition to eight boards and five assists, while Carter had 11 points. Amos is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played.

Richton's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Presbyterian Christian, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-2.

Richton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 70-59 win against Christian Collegiate Academy on the 21st. As for Presbyterian Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-58 loss against Greene County on the 21st.
