The Santee Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight defeat. They fell to Winnebago 57-52. Santee has struggled against Winnebago recently, as their contest on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Winnebago got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ashton Lapointe out in front who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. It was the first time this season that Lapointe pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Caden Brownrigg, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds.
Santee dropped their record down to 8-7 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Winnebago, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-10 record this season.
Santee's road trip will continue as they head out to face Pine Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on February 10th. As for Winnebago, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Tri County Northeast on February 9th. Hopefully Tri County Northeast focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 last Saturday.
