The Heritage Eagles had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Douglas County by a score of 62-53 on Thursday. The victory was just what Heritage needed coming off of a 80-58 loss in their prior matchup.
Logan Hause had a dynamite game for Heritage, scoring 22 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Chaney, who scored five points along with seven rebounds.
Several Huskies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Vaughn Baldwin, who scored 11 points along with three steals. Baldwin is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Anthony Nettles was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
Heritage's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-12. As for Douglas County, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heritage will take on Rock Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rock Canyon is coming into the match with four straight victories on the road, meaning Heritage will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Douglas County, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Mountain Vista at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th.
