Las Plumas is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Live Oak on Thursday as they made off with a 17-2 win. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Thunderbirds with their most commanding win of the season.

The team relied heavily on Adalyna Medrano, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Atteberry, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Gridley made easy work of Oroville on Tuesday and carried off a 19-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Reese Stevens made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5. She also hit a triple, marking her first of the season.
In other batting news, Gridley let Delanie Cloyd and Avery Mendenhall run wild. Cloyd went 4-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs, while Mendenhall went 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Cloyd is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Payton Burresch was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
Gridley lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Las Plumas pushed their record up to 14-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Gridley, their record is now 8-1.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Las Plumas hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .384. However, it's not like Gridley struggles in that department as they've averaged .512. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Las Plumas' way against Gridley when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Las Plumas made off with a 13-4 win. Do the Thunderbirds have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
