On Tuesday, Sacopee Valley didn't have quite enough to beat Waynflete and fell 5-4.
Donovan Harvey was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Harvey was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.
In other batting news, Silas Nielsen made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

The team relied heavily on Trot Moody, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Old Orchard Beach is 6-1 when Moody posts two or more runs, but 1-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Moody, who went 2-for-3 with four runs and one RBI.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Sacopee Valley has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Old Orchard Beach struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Sacopee Valley skirted past Old Orchard Beach 3-1 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
