The Airport Eagles won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They were beaten by North Augusta 54-14. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Airport has scored all season.
Leading North Augusta to victory were Celena Grant (new) and Ashley Walker. Grant (new) scored 16 points along with two steals, while Walker scored 21 points along with three steals. Walker hasn't dropped below 17 points for four straight games. Madison McCain was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Airport's defeat dropped their record down to 15-9. As for North Augusta, their win was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-5.
Airport does not have any more games scheduled as of now. North Augusta will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Midland Valley is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
