Softball Recap: Rio Vista Has No Trouble Against Vacaville Christian

Rio Vista won the last time they faced Vacaville Christian and things went their way on Thursday too. The Rams put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 15-8 win. Considering the Rams have won six matchups by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Samiah Holley and Makyla Mandujano did most of the damage at the plate: Holley scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5, while Mandujano went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Kennedi Lehigh was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.

Rio Vista hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Vacaville Christian struck out nine times.

Rio Vista has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Vacaville Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Rio Vista and Mesa Verde will shake off the rust and duke it out at 4:00 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Vacaville Christian, they will take on Highlands at 4:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
