Basketball Recap: Northeast Lauderdale Snags 11th Victory in Last 14 Games

There's no place like home for Northeast Lauderdale, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. Everything went their way against the West Lauderdale Knights on Tuesday as the Northeast Lauderdale Trojans made off with a 51-30 victory. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while the Knights are ranked 150th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Northeast Lauderdale's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jalei Bolton, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 18 boards. Bolton has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 15 times she's played. Jakayla Grace was another key player, putting up six points and eight steals.

Northeast Lauderdale has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for West Lauderdale, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-9.

Northeast Lauderdale has already played their next contest (against Choctaw Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. West Lauderdale has already played their next game, a 63-49 loss against Pisgah on the 16th.
