Softball Recap: East Mountain Takes a Loss

East Mountain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Del Norte Knights, falling 18-7. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-3 on Saturday.

Sophia Luna was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since March 5th. Tess Schumacher was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

East Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Del Norte, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Mountain will welcome Dexter at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Del Norte, they will be playing at home against Manzano at 4:00 a.m. on Monday. Considering Del Norte has lost five straight at home (dating back to last season) and Manzano five straight on the road, this one might come down to who's more desperate to change their momentum.
