Softball Recap: Dilley Wins Going Away Against Junction

While Dilley didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against the Junction Eagles on Saturday as they made off with a 10-1 victory. The Wolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by nine runs or more this season.

Izabella Proctor made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kassidy Romeo, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2025. Madelyne Proctor was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Dilley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Junction only posted an OBP of .357.

Dilley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Junction, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Dilley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 17-1 victory against Sabinal on the 28th. As for Junction, they will square off against Johnson City at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The game will give Junction their first taste of in-conference action this season.
