Valley is 0-3 against Southern Reynolds since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Valley Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Southern Reynolds Whippets at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Valley has three straight victories, Southern Reynolds has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Even though Crystal City scored an imposing 61 points on Thursday, Valley still came out on top. Valley walked away with a 68-61 win over Crystal City.
Meanwhile, Southern Reynolds took a serious blow against Westwood Baptist Academy on Tuesday, falling 65-31. Southern Reynolds was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-15.
Valley's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Southern Reynolds, they bumped their record down to 3-5 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Valley took a serious blow against Southern Reynolds in their previous meeting back in February of 2016, falling 71-19. Can Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
