The Lee County Yellow Jackets suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They were dealt a 79-47 loss at the hands of Southern Lee. Lee County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-23.
Lee County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nic Farrow, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Ronnie Hooker, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
Lee County has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Southern Lee, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 16-1.
Lee County will head out on the road to face off against Union Pines at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Union Pines and four for Lee County. As for Southern Lee, they will be playing at home against Richmond at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Richmond is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
