The Southern Trojans will square off against the North Bullitt Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
On Saturday, Southern got the win against Washington County by a conclusive 13-3. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.
Alex Coba spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Lariel Torres was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Diego Vallejos Espinoza, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, North Bullitt hadn't done well against North Oldham recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Eagles came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mustangs, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since May 9, 2024.
Southern pushed their record up to 14-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for North Bullitt, their win bumped their record up to 17-5.
Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Southern has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .436. However, it's not like North Bullitt struggles in that department as they've averaged .476. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
