Campbell Wilson was a one-woman wrecking crew for Rocky Mountain as she posted 17 points in addition to six steals and five assists. That's the most steals Wilson has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Mckenzie Bybee, who earned eight points along with eight boards and three steals.
Wilson wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Rocky Mountain was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Borah's game on Friday was all tied up 15-15 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 31-30 win over Capital. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 36th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Borah found their leader in sophomore Kya Davis, who scored 11 points and six rebounds. Rylee Hale was another key player, putting up seven points.
The victory made it two in a row for Borah and bumps their season record up to 17-4. As for Rocky Mountain, their win bumped their record up to 13-9.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Rocky Mountain has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 29 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Borah struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.4 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Rocky Mountain suffered a grim 54-31 defeat to Borah when the teams last played back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Davis, who went 7 for 11 en route to 21 points and six rebounds. Now that Rocky Mountain knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
