The Zane Trace Pioneers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 24-14 victory over Madison.
Zane Trace's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carter Langley led the charge by rushing for 91 yards and a touchdown, while also throwing for 112 yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Aaden Dunn, who picked up 95 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Zane Trace's win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.2 points per game. As for Madison, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.
Zane Trace will square off against Purcell Marian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Purcell Marian's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last four games. Madison does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
