The Apollo Eagles will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Dawson Springs Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Apollo beat Union County 68-55. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Apollo.
Meanwhile, Dawson Springs earned a 68-58 win over Heritage Christian Academy on Saturday.
Dawson Springs relied on the efforts of Rex Blue, who scored 23 points along with 9 rebounds and 6 assists, and Montgomery Johnston, who scored 21 points along with 8 rebounds and 8 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Johnston has scored at least 25% of Dawson Springs' points. Jaybird Plunkette was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
The wins kept both teams' perfect 2-0 season records intact.
Everything came up roses for Apollo against Dawson Springs in their previous matchup back in January of 2020 as the team secured a 95-62 win. Does Apollo have another victory up their sleeve, or will Dawson Springs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
