Brimfield had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They had just enough and edged out the ROWVA/Williamsfield Cougars 2-1 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Indians have posted against the Cougars since August 22, 2022.

Brimfield had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-16, 25-19.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brimfield will head out to challenge Dunlap at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for ROWVA/Williamsfield, they are headed away from home for the first time to square off against Cuba/Spoon River Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
