Manzano is 3-0 against Del Norte since September of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Manzano Monarchs will look to defend their home field against the Del Norte Knights at 7:00 p.m. Manzano is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season.
After soaring to 42 points the game before, Manzano were a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They took a serious blow against Los Alamos, falling 48-9. Manzano was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-3.
Despite the loss, Manzano got a solid performance out of Josh Nieto, who gained 107 total yards.
Meanwhile, Del Norte fell victim to Valley's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 53-0 loss at the hands of the Vikings. Del Norte has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The losses dropped both teams to an identical 1-7.
Everything came up roses for Manzano against Del Norte in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 55-26 victory. Will Manzano repeat their success, or does Del Norte have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
