The South Pointe Stallions will head out on the road to square off against the Riverside Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
South Pointe scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat York 84-48 on the road. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point South Pointe had established a 26 point advantage.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Pointe to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ry'Darius Hill, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Louis Howie, who scored 17 points along with four steals.
South Pointe used a slightly different lineup for their bout with York. And. Landon Hawkins made the most of the opportunity, scoring six points along with six rebounds and two steals. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.
Meanwhile, Riverside faced Greer in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Riverside walked away with a 60-52 win over Greer on Friday. Winning may never get old, but Riverside sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
The win made it two in a row for South Pointe and bumps their season record up to 10-16. As for Riverside, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season.
