Jackson North Side had lost three straight at home, but on Monday they dropped down to 7-5 to make it four. They took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the McNairy Central Bobcats. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.
Jackson North Side got a good showing from Cooper Wall, who pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. The dominant performance also gave Wall a new career-low in walks (zero).
At the plate, Zen Yoshida was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Another player making a difference was Xavier Spann, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
As for McNairy Central, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-7. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On McNairy Central's side, Case Rickman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Rickman was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bradyn Purviance, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Case Stone was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
While Jackson North Side had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:35 p.m. on Tuesday.
