Oriskany waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They never let the Sherburne-Earlville Marauders get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. The Skyhawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by eight runs or more this season.

Dean Koenig and Chase Koenig made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Koenig tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Chase didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Dean has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. At the plate, Koenig went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Chase got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Nick Hays and Sean Graziano did most of the damage at the plate: Hays went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run, while Graziano went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Hays also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Eddie Wright, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Oriskany's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Sherburne-Earlville, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oriskany will head out to square off against Morrisville-Eaton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Sherburne-Earlville, they will challenge Canastota at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
